The V Games of La Francophonie featured traditional wrestling, the most popular sport in Niger. Wrestlers from around the world came to showcase their sport and put on an extraordinary demonstration. Team Canada was represented by a group from Nunavut.

In addition to traditional wrestling, Niger hosted competitions in track and field, basketball (women), boxing (men), soccer (men), judo and table tennis.
