Only a few hours before the closing ceremonies, Canada's soccer team won the last gold medal of the event before 30,000 enthusiastic Malagasy spectators. The victory over the Congo was not an easy one. The determined Canadian team was finally able to defeat the skilled Congolese after 120 minutes of play, and a 3 to 2 shootout.
