The Final Stretch

As the VI Games of La Francophonie draw to a close, there is much to look back on with pride, and there is still much to look forward to in the next few days. Team Canada has already come through with flying colours--and there is more to come.

The combined efforts of our athletes and artists have brought honour to Canada by winning 30 medals! Our most recent medals were earned yesterday by our beach volleyball and table tennis players.

And we still have opportunities to be rewarded for our determination in the pursuit of excellence. Finals are being held today in boxing and in track and field. Boxer Didier Bence of Team Canada still has a chance to reach the podium. And our medal count may rise with the results of the 12 remaining track and field competitions.
