Bronze for Julie Labonté

October 3, 2009 - Julie Labonté was glowing after the award ceremony for women's shot put. "Of course, you always want to do better, but for an international competition, I am pleased and proud to place third."

All things considered, Julie has appreciated her experience at the Games so far. She has met new people and renewed acquaintances with athletes she competed against at the last world championships in Berlin. "It was good to see them again and get a better insight into the love for the sport that we all share."

When she returns to Canada, Julie plans to concentrate on the indoor championships that will take place this winter. And--who knows?--she may achieve her goal of a 17 m shot put.
