Canada Wins Gold and Silver!


Karkwa: Louis-Jean Cormier (guitar and vocals), Stéphane Bergeron (drums), François Lafontaine (keyboard), Martin Lamontagne (bass) et Julien Sagot (percussion and vocals).

Team Canada excelled in visual arts, winning both gold and silver medals.

October 4, 2009 - The jury of the photography competition, led by Geneviève Ruest, former bronze medallist at the Games in Ottawa–Hull, awarded a gold medal to our candidate Geneviève Thauvette at the results ceremony at the Palais de l’UNESCO last night. “I was so happy, I cried on the podium. Now I can really say that the Games in Lebanon are fantastic!” she said, with one of her trademark laughs. »

Literature Finals : Special Mention


October 4, 2009 - At the award ceremony for the short story competition yesterday, the jury awarded a special mention to two candidates from Canada: Stéphanie Filion of Team Canada and Valérie Forgues of Team Canada–Québec. »
