Enabling Captions
Real Player / RealOne Player
Steps for enabling captions in Real Player or RealOne Player:
- From the Tools menu (the View menu in older versions), select "Preferences...".
- Select the "Content" category.
- Select "Show subtitles"
- Select "Use supplemental text captioning when available."
Windows Media Player 10
Steps for enabling captions in Windows Media Player 10:
- From the Tools menu, select "Options...".
- Select the “Security” tab.
- Check the "Show local captions when present" box.
- Select OK.
- To toggle captions, press Ctrl+Shift+C (or select "Captions and Subtitles > On if Available" in the Play menu).
Windows Media Player 9
Steps for enabling captions in Windows Media Player 9:
- To toggle captions, press Ctrl+Shift+C (or select "Captions and Subtitles" > "On if Available" in the Play menu).
Windows Media Player 7 or Windows Media Player 8
Steps for enabling captions in Windows Media Player 7 or Windows Media Player 8:
- From the View menu, select "Now Playing Tools" > "Captions".
Window Media Player 6.4
Steps for enabling captions in Windows Media Player 6.4:
- From the View menu, select "Captions".
Enabling Descriptive Audio
Real Player / Real One Player
Steps for enabling descriptive audio in Real Player or RealOne Player:
- From the Tools menu, select "Preferences..." (the View menu in older versions).
- Select the "Content" category.
- Select "Play descriptive audio when available."
Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player currently does not provide support for a separate descriptive audio track.
Note:
If your browser is Firefox, this video file is automatically saved. But you can change the setting of FireFox to show a dialog to open or save it: go to the menu of FireFox, click Tools, select Options, select Main, click Manage Add-ons... inside Add-ons, select Plugins, Disable Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library.
