Testimonials - Trip to Québec City 2008
In 2008, Canada marked a very special anniversary - the 400th anniversary of the founding of Québec City. As part of the celebrations, the 13 provincial and territorial Poster Challenge finalists and their families travelled to Québec City, from July 2 to 4, 2008. Once there, they had the opportunity to participate in great activities and were personally invited by the Governor General of Canada to be her guests at a reception held at The Citadel of Québec. Read below to find out what some of them had to say about their experience.

Québec City is beautiful. All of the sights were wonderful, the tours were very informative – those guides sure know their history! Dinner at the Citadel with the Governor General was outstanding and do fireworks get any better than that? Wow, wow, wow!

I just loved having supper at the Governor General’s with all those kinds of music and food. I liked my visit at the aquarium because I’ve learnt a lot of things on fishes. The walking guided tour was amazing. It was a wonderful and unforgettable experience!

I really wish that we could have spent more time in Québec City. Visiting the Governor General's summer residence was amazing as was walking through old Québec and learning about its history. What an unforgettable trip!

Celebrating Québec City’s 400th anniversary will be a memorable experience for me and my family. I really appreciated the ancient monuments that brought the events of the past centuries to life. Today, we must think about this brave man who discovered Québec – Samuel de Champlain.
