Exchanges Canada Program

The Exchanges Canada Program has two components:

Through these two components, the Program’s goal is to:

  • Enhance knowledge and understanding of Canada among Canadian youth;
  • Connect young Canadians with one another; and
  • Help youth develop a sense of Canadian identity and attachment to Canada by helping them appreciate the diversity and the shared aspects of the Canadian experience.

The program also aims to involve youth exchange and forum participants from all walks of life, and encourage underrepresented groups of youth such as Aboriginals, visible minorities and those with disabilities to apply.

Participants in the Exchanges Canada Program can go almost anywhere in Canada. They can discover a rural area or a city centre, a French- or English-speaking community, a province on the other side of the country or an equally exciting place closer to home.
