Good evening everyone.
It's a pleasure for me to be standing here and meeting every one of you from each province and territory. I am honoured to be attending this very special event as the National winner of this year's Canada Day Poster Challenge. However, I couldn't have done it without the help of my family, friends, and teachers. Most importantly though, I have to thank the Department of Canadian Heritage for organizing this contest and making it such a success.
During the process of researching Canadian history for my poster, I was really amazed by how much Canada as a nation has developed since its confederation in 1867. Taking part in the Poster Challenge made me realize how Canada is so unique from other countries, with its multicultural society and its rich natural resources and beautiful scenery. Before entering this contest, I was just a teenaged immigrant who knew little about this country. But soon, I began to love this new country, particularly the schools and the lifestyle here. Canadians are the friendliest people I know!
I am really honoured to have the opportunity to present Canada through my poster. Furthermore, I hope people will appreciate Canada's diversity and learn more about our country. Drawing the poster for Canada Day was really fun and rewarding as well. The Canada Day Poster Challenge gave me the chance to get to know Canada as a whole. I am proud to call Canada home. Thank you everyone for making this year's contest such a memorable experience.
Thank you!
